Rodney Zuroveste – Alto Saxophone

Rodney Zuroeveste is a proud recipient of a Bachelor’s Degree in Saxophone Performance from Boise State University which he received in 2007. He completed his Master’s Degree in Classical Saxophone Performance from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2011 where his primary teacher was the well-known soloist and Professor of Saxophone Lynn Klock. He has also studied with a number of world class saxophone specialists including Eugene Rousseau, Anna-Marie Wytko, Thomas Liley and Sandon Mayhew. Since 2000 Mr. Zuroeveste has been involved in the Treasure Valley music scene as both a performer and saxophone instructor of classical and jazz literature. His performance schedule is active and he is the first call saxophonist for the Boise Philharmonic. He has premiered several new works for saxophone on both the east and west coasts. Mr. Zuroeveste particularly enjoys performing as a member of the Boise Saxophone Quartet, a group of professional saxophonists that he helped established in 2009. Currently, Mr. Zuroeveste is serving as the Instructor of Saxophone at Boise State University and maintains an active prep school studio from his home. He has given master classes at the junior high, high school and college levels, and has judged various Idaho Music Educators Association events including; District III State Solo Competitions and the Idaho All-State Band auditions. Mr. Zuroeveste feels especially blessed that he has been given the opportunity to perform and teach regularly.
